Hello there. I'm glad you've stopped by.
My name is Ari Crosby. I'm a Daughter of God, a wife to a strapping young fellow, a mother to a beautiful yellow-haired girl and two adorable pups. I'm a baker, sewer, designer, all around crafter and creator, and this little corner of the internet is my dream in fruition.
Marigold & Co. is the result of years of dreams and ideas that I didn't necessarily know I wanted until I was sitting on the beach one day and realized I did.
That might sound odd. Like, girl, how the fudge did you not know what you wanted.
Well, valid question.
After spending years working in management I knew that it wasn't what I loved doing. Don't get me wrong, I learned so much, grew even more, and value the experiences and friendships that I gained from that time. Once my daughter was born, I had such a hard time going back from maternity leave. So totally cliche but if you've been there, you know. It was then I began starting to pray and look into different forms of income. I researched passive incomes, searched for different job opportunities, and tried to find something that spoke to my heart. But ultimately I kept thinking that I would never be satisfied until I worked for myself. I just didn't know what that looked like.
I remember when I was a kid, I would have all these crazy business ideas and as a teen would even pitch ideas to my family. I honestly didn't remember these things until I was sitting on that beach. All these new ideas came flooding into my heart and head. And for the first time, it felt like I finally had some sense of direction. I had been praying for such a long time for dreams in my heart to be revealed and to be given steps to follow. One day I was asking God about his timing. Why now? Why was He was reminding and revealing all of these things to me, and He just said one word: stewardship. That I had stewarded the season that I was in, and it was time to start moving into the next season that He had for me.
Fast forward a few months and the idea that became Marigold & Co. began to unfold. The name Marigold spoke to me on a few levels: if you know me, you know that I love flowers and yellow is my favorite color. But deeper than that, marigolds stand for sunny days, cheer, good relationships, and the drive and motivation to succeed. It just felt right and like this is what God had for me.
I flirted with different ways of using Marigold and the eventual goal I wanted to achieve.
Marigold & Co. was the winner.
Let me explain why, because it all came down to the ampersand.
Ampersands are one of those things that became really popular over the last few years, and I always liked them but struggled to find what they meant to me. (You're probably asking yourself why I care so much about a grammar symbol. Well, welcome to my brain). God showed me one day what it could mean, and through that also gave be the goal for Marigold & Co. Why I wanted to take this journey and why it was so important to me to share what I love with all of you.
For me, the ampersand represents balance. Family and work. Creativity and function. Purposeful and effortless. Details and the big picture. Things being just right and yet there being no right answer. It's meant to encompass all the parts of you and me.
The ampersand is harmony, peace and all the beautiful things that make life.
I invite you join me in exploring my thoughts, ideas, and items I love. All the items you'll find on Marigold & Co. are handpicked by me, because I know they will make you feel excitement and joy. Let them be a constant reminder that there are no rules to you and your process, and no ceiling to what you can achieve. I hope you are inspired as much as I am, and always remember to make time for the ands in your life, too.
With all the love in the world,
"In design, there is no such thing as rules."
